Description
This recipe is easy to make and tasty. I like it because it saves a ton of time in the morning. 25-30 minutes of prep work will give you breakfast for the week.
Ingredients
These are the ingredients and measurements PER SERVING.
- 0.5 Cup, Traditional Rolled Oatmeal (Not Instant)
- 0.5 Cup, Milk
- 1 8oz. Mason Jars / Tupperware / Other Sealing Container
- 1/8 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 Tablespoon Honey
- Splash of Vanilla Extract
Directions
- Measure the oats into the container.
- Add the cinnamon.
- Add the honey.
- Add the milk.
- Add the vanilla extract.
- Seal the lid tightly on the container.
- Shake vigorously to mix the ingredients.
- Place in the refrigerator and leave overnight. The oatmeal will be good for 3-4 days. I have found that day two or three has the best taste.
Modifications
- Adding milk will make the oatmeal creamier, reducing milk will make the oatmeal thicker.
- Reduce the amount of honey to cut down on sugar.
- When prepping you can also mix in flax seeds, chocolate chips, or peanut butter for example.
- When you actually eat it, you can mix in fresh fruit such as berries or apples. If you put fruit in overnight it tends to get mushy and gross.
