Sending E-mail Progress Reports via Focus

This is a quick walk-through on sending progress reports via e-mail with Focus. You can click on the images to see the full size version.

In Focus click "Grades" then "Gradebook Reports".

On the following screen:

  • Check the "Include Attendance Summary" and "Include Assignment Description" boxes.
  • Un-check the "Include Inactive Students" box.

On the following screen you can choose "To Each Student" or "To Each Custodial Contact". You cannot choose both at once. Not all parents have an e-mail address in Focus. Sometimes Focus will show an error message as to which parents do not. Otherwise if you look at the cc'd copy of the e-mail and the To: field is left blank, that parent is missing an e-mail. Anyone at your school that has admin rights in Focus can update parent e-mail addresses.

In the left-hand side there is a small check-box to select all students at once. Otherwise you can e-mail individual students by checking the box next to their picture. Once you have selected all of the recipients click "Send E-mails". It may take a few minutes, especially with the extra network traffic right now.
