Final Day for Late Work is May 26th!

I WILL NOT accept work on the 27th.  I have not assigned a new project in three weeks, there is no excuse for not having the assignment finished.  If there is a reason you could not complete it you should have addressed it already with me.

Any extra credit assignments will be entered on the 27th before I submit my final grades.

[Video Project] "Hey Me, It's You"

Directions

For this extra credit project, students will record a short video of them speaking to themselves, five years into the future. Imagine what you want your life to look like in five years. Talk about what your goals or fears are. Tell yourself a joke. Whatever you want to say, as long as it is school appropriate. I will combine all of the student submissions into one video. It will be scheduled to premier on my YouTube channel on June 1, 2025. Come back in five years and see what you had to say to yourself.

  1. Video should start with a 3-5 second title slide / screen with "Hey Me, It's You", Your First Name and Last Initial, and May 2020.
  2. Your recorded video can be up to 40 seconds long. You do not need to show your face in the video but I should be able to hear your voice.
  3. The TOTAL length of the video should not exceed 45 seconds. Up to 5 seconds for the title screen and up to 40 seconds for the video itself.
  4. Share your finished video with me via OneDrive. I must have it by 05/26/20 at 11:59PM in order to award the extra credit for this quarter.
  5. You do NOT need to post on Teams when you submit your video, it will show up in my OneDrive e-mail.
  6. I will review all videos before adding them to the montage on YouTube.

[4th Quarter] Update on Final Day for Late Work: Now May 26, 2020.

Due to this, I am moving up my deadline for late work to May 26, 2020 at 11:59PM. If you submit an assignment AND post to the Grade This! channel by 11:59PM on May 26, your project WILL get graded before I submit my final grades.

[3D Modeling] Will It Blend #00: Primitive Animation

Background

3D modeling is another important aspect of game design. Maps and characters are often built using 3D modeling software. Many popular animated movies are also created using 3D modeling software. There are many versions of 3D modeling software available. The software we will use in class is called Blender. It is available to download as open source software.

Blender provides many important functions including but not limited to:

  1. Modeling
  2. Rigging
  3. Animating
  4. Texturing
  5. Video Editing
